My name is Janis Richman, and I am an experienced educator, certified life coach, corporate trainer and graphic artist. My focus has been on finding creative ways for adults and teens to learn. And now, my love of inspired teaching, writing and illustration has given voice to bringing new skills to children.
I am the author and illustrator of a very special children’s book, AlphaScamps™ and the Scampanions™ BIG WORDS Adventure.

Big Words Adventure helps kids stretch their English vocabulary or solidly integrate what they already know. The book uses rhymed stories and images depicting kids engaging in fun activities on each letter of the alphabet. The AlphaScamps are various genders, ethnicities and differently-abled. There are twenty-six different AlphaScamps having fun in 26 different ways – doing things that make kids laugh, with lots of details to keep them engaged.
The BIG WORDS used in the rhyme are defined at the bottom of the page so kids can learn new words or brush up on the ones they know. The definitions are written to be action-oriented, so they resonate with kids and are memorable.
This is a delightful, colorfully illustrated book.
An in-depth curriculum, along with a complimentary training session, is provided to give teachers a kickstart for using the book and to provide various imaginative and effective teaching methods.
